The Prince Edward Island Business Women’s Association (PEIBWA) today launched a combination accelerator and mentorship program for Island women. I was thrilled to be asked to deliver the keynote for this virtual event to speak about the benefits of mentoring. The 12-week pilot is a project of the Atlantic Canadian Women in Growth Partnership, which is funded by the federal Women Entrepreneurship Strategy. It will be rolled out in January 2021 and involve ten mentees and ten mentors. PEIBWA is taking the lead on this initiative, which may eventually be expanded to all four Atlantic provinces!
The pilot is unique in offering BOTH an accelerator and mentorship for women-led businesses in the growth stage of development. The Startup Zone in Charlottetown and the Rural Women’s Business Centre in Bedeque PEI are collaborating in the pilot.
Exciting times for Island women in business!
