Harness the Power of Mentoring PART 3 – Be That Mentor!
May 16 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
How do you know if you are ready to be a mentor? How do you prepare for that eventuality?
In the third and final session in the mentoring series, we’ll explore a critical juncture in your mentoring evolution: Be That Mentor!
In this lively, interactive session, you will learn why you should be a mentor and the types of mentoring models to consider such as 1:1 mentoring, co-mentoring, peer mentoring.
- You’ll do a confidential self-assessment.
- You’ll learn some essential skills. For example, you’ll practice how to give and take feedback.
- We’ll examine what it means to mentor cross-gender in the post #MeToo era.
- Most importantly, you’ll learn what it means to listen, really listen, to a mentee; how to create a safe space; and how to encourage your mentee to open up, try new things, and learn from their errors.
Worksheets will be provided. Please sign up early so that we bring enough materials for all.
